Leadership is demonstrated by action. In honor of champions of the environment and to encourage and support local conservation successes, the Fund partners with corporations, foundations and individuals to recognize outstanding leadership in conservation through award and grant programs.

Current Grant Programs

The Kodak American Greenways Awards Program

The Eastman Kodak American Greenways Awards, a partnership project of Kodak, The Conservation Fund, and the National Geographic Society, provides small grants to stimulate the planning and design of greenways in communities throughout America.  Read more>

International Paper Environmental Excellence Awards

The International Paper Conservation Partnership Award and the International Paper Environmental Education Award were given annually to recognize two outstanding conservation and environmental education leaders. The International Paper Foundation and The Conservation Fund provided national recognition and $10,000 cash grants to the recipients at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The final awards were given in 2007.  Read more>

Saginaw Bay Watershed Initiative Network Grants Program

With support from the Dow Chemical Company and The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, the Fund has taken a leadership role with the Saginaw Bay Watershed Initiative Network by awarding nearly $2 million in grants to many innovative projects that benefited the region’s economy, environment and communities.   Read more>

The National Forum on Children and Nature

The National Forum on Children and Nature is engaging governors, mayors, corporate CEOs, heads of environmental organizations, and leaders from health and education institutions, to invest several million dollars in projects with on-the-ground tangible results that address the issue of children’s isolation from nature.  Read more>
