Major Gifts Manager

This position requires creation and implementation of donor strategies of a portfolio of 75 donors and supporting a portfolio managed by field staff. The Major Gifts Manager provides fundraising support to field staff, meeting regularly with colleagues across the country to coordinate and execute fundraising strategies using experience and knowledge to build consensus and align fundraising initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of portfolio of 75 donors.
  • Work collaboratively with field staff to create and implement fundraising strategies for a portfolio of donors managed by the field staff.
  • Develop multi-year fundraising strategies and goals.
  • Responsible for setting and meeting financial fundraising goals.
  • Create opportunities for donor recognition and growth.
  • Assist Director of Fundraising with development of donor strategies.
  • Work with Director of Fundraising to define and implement short and long range fundraising objectives of the organization.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in working with donors giving $10,000 or more per year

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • The work requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.
  • The position does require sporadically working long hours and/or weekends.
  • Overnight travel is required.
