Q:  We are dedicated to protecting America’s treasured landscapes. What’s your favorite outdoor place or experience?

A: I grew up outside New York City, and the woods were both my backyard and my playground. As I got older, I realized that haphazard growth and poor planning were shrinking these precious lands. Planning for an appropriate balance between growth and conservation is very important to me.

Q: As a donor, why have you chosen to support The Conservation Fund?

A:  The Fund is an outstanding, effective organization with demonstrated leadership in on-the-ground conservation. The Fund focuses on real results and real action to protect important land and water resources. From green infrastructure planning efforts to the protection of working landscapes to the Freshwater Institute’s cutting-edge research, the Fund looks at the big picture.

Q: What are your conservation priorities for the future?

A:  For many local communities, balancing sustainable development with land and water conservation is a critical challenge. The Fund provides both the leadership and the valuable expertise necessary to help people better understand and address the role that land and water conservation plays in their communities.
