Op-ed: Conservation’s Role in a Cleaner Energy Future

Given the new infrastructure development required to transition to a low-carbon, green energy future, it can seem as though these two initiatives contradict one another. However, there is one thing that new energy infrastructure and biodiversity both need to thrive: land. Under the Biden administration, the U.S. raced to do its part by launching efforts to both halve the country’s carbon emissions and protect biodiversity on 30% of its land by 2030.
