Rachael Joiner

Regional Director of Fundraising, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

Rachael is the Regional Director of Fundraising for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, leading efforts to secure funding for diverse projects, from expansive forestland conservation to urban park development, across 13 states from Maine to Virginia.

Since joining The Conservation Fund in 2016, Rachael has leveraged over 15 years of experience in conservation fundraising, both domestically and internationally. Before her current role, she served as the Deputy Development Director at Rainforest Trust, where she focused on habitat protection across the equator. She also held the position of Development Director at Friends of the Rappahannock in Virginia, advocating for river conservation. Additionally, Rachael developed eco-focused community programs in Bali, Indonesia, and worked as a Conservation Educator at the Oregon Zoo in Portland, Oregon.

She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University, specializing in Global Leadership and Management, and a degree in Public Administration from James Madison University. Rachael resides in Madison, Virginia, where she enjoys exploring the mountains and rivers with her family.
