Lauren Day

Florida State Director

Lauren is the Florida State Director at The Conservation Fund. She has worked in land conservation for over 20 years, protecting more than 75,000 acres in Florida — from small community parks to vast working landscapes. She is skilled in conservation project design, grant writing, and real estate transactions/negotiations, working with landowners and agencies alike to meet their conservation goals.

Before joining The Conservation Fund in 2008, Lauren served for 5 years as the Executive Director of Alachua Conservation Trust, a nationally accredited non-profit land trust. She has also worked as a commercial property manager and as the Director of Greening UF, an initiative to reduce the environmental impact of the University of Florida that ultimately became UF’s Office of Sustainability.

In 2023, Lauren was part of a team that was awarded a Chief’s Award by the U.S. Forest Service for protection of several large tracts within Osceola National Forest. In 2010, she was awarded a Regional Director’s Conservation Award by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for her work conserving habitat for a federally endangered plant species.

Lauren has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College and a master’s degree in Real Estate from the University of Florida.
