Brian Schneider

Forest Operations Manager

Based in Orono, Maine, Brian is a Forest Operations Manager, responsible for overseeing forest management planning, timber harvesting, recreational lease administration and forest certification efforts for Working Forest Fund properties in the northern United States.

Brian began his career as a field forester with Fountains Forestry in Vermont and subsequently worked for the Virginia Department of Forestry and North Carolina Forest Service. He was Lead Instructor of Forest Management Technology at Haywood Community College in Clyde, North Carolina, and owner of Taconic Natural Resources, a forestry consulting company based in western North Carolina. Brian was also previously employed by the James Sewall Company of Old Town, Maine, where he provided analytical support for timberland valuation as well as for acquisition and disposition due diligence projects.

Brian holds a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in Forestry from the University of Maine. He is currently a Licensed Professional Forester in Maine and a Registered Forester in North Carolina.
