Bethany Olmstead

Director of Conservation, Working Forest Fund

Bethany brings more than 28 years of conservation experience to The Conservation Fund. She leads the implementation of conservation and disposition strategies in partnership with The Conservation Fund’s Acquisitions field staff across the Working Forest Fund’s portfolio and provides technical support to the Working Forest Fund on other critical business aspects including finance and acquisitions.

Prior to working for The Conservation Fund, Bethany directed land conservation and stewardship efforts as the Associate Director of the Piedmont Land Conservancy, a nine-county regional land trust serving the north-central Piedmont of North Carolina. She also worked for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission working with landowners to develop and implement multi-resource forest management plans through the Forest Stewardship Program. Bethany has a Master of Environmental Management in Resource Ecology from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment.
