Rakesh Ranjan

Research Scientist

Rakesh is a Research Scientist for the Freshwater Institute, leading the precision aquaculture research. His research focuses on integrating advanced sensing technologies, machine learning algorithms and big data analytics to optimize the productivity and sustainability of intensive land-based aquaculture systems. His outreach includes writing peer-reviewed publications, presenting research findings at international scientific conferences and fostering industrial collaborations.

Rakesh holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Washington State University, a Master of Technology from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Kharagpur) and a Bachelor of Technology from the College of Technology in Pantnagar, India, both in Agricultural and Food Engineering.
