Associate Director, Resourceful Communities

Dave directs Resourceful Communities’ Faith and Food initiative, which engages rural churches, especially rural United Methodist churches, in local food economies, more effective use of church resources and authentic community partnerships; and Healthy Communities, Healthy Economies, a Western North Carolina-focused initiative to address social determinants of health, particularly healthy local food access, economic development and outdoor engagement.

Dave joined Resourceful Communities as Associate Director in 2022. Before that he worked as the Development Director/Co-Director for Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and operated a community-scale farm in Boone, North Carolina.

Dave holds an M.A. in Appalachian Studies, a Graduate Certificate in GIS from Appalachian State University and a B.A. in American Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South.
