Hawaii

Introduction

Most often known as a home to its eight main islands, Hawaii encompasses a chain of more than 137 isles with deep ecological and cultural significance. Its unique features, from the fiery craters of the Big Island’s volcanoes to Kauai’s dramatic cliffs and waterfalls, are some of the most coveted landscapes across the globe. The Fund has worked to keep these lands protected by preserving land critical to endangered species and indigenous plants found nowhere else in the world.
