Chris West

Faith and Food Coordinator

Chris has an extensive background in faith-based nonprofit leadership and ministry that brings together his passion for the local church, collaborative communities and excellent food. Chris joined Resourceful Communities in March 2024 as a Faith and Food Coordinator and is on a mission to empower rural churches, nonprofits and faith coalitions to enhance food ministries and local economies through collaborative, creative and cohesive initiatives.

Chris’ diverse experiences include serving as a religious liberty fellow with the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, a theology fellow with Creation Justice Ministries, living with refugees in Welcome House, and completing the Faith-Based Nonprofit Leadership program at Wake Forest Divinity. Chris and his wife, Melissa, are both Raleigh natives who love to hike, cook and make new friends.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Religion/Pre-Law from Campbell University and a Master of Divinity from Duke University.
