Claire Cooney

Vice President, Strategic Giving

Claire is the Vice President of Strategic Giving, where she oversees the team responsible with promoting philanthropic giving by donors and funders to advance the mission of The Conservation Fund. Her team works to amplify the Fund’s mission and secure funding for projects, programs and the Revolving Fund.

Claire has been with the organization since 2007. Before joining the Fund, Claire worked for Mobilize.org in Washington, D.C., and the American Heart Association in Austin, Texas. Claire participates in a variety of volunteer roles with Keep Durham Beautiful, the Junior League of Durham & Orange Counties and the North Carolina Chapter of the Southwestern University Alumni Association. In her spare time, Claire enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family and dogs.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication Studies from Southwestern University and holds the Georgetown University’s New Strategies Program certificate.
