Guenevere Abernathy

North Carolina State Director

Guenevere joined The Conservation Fund in fall 2023. Her role is to lead the conservation programs in North Carolina and work with our partners across the state and region.

Her past experiences have centered on social entrepreneurship, business development, strategic planning and raising capital. She has been recognized by Walter Magazine’s Women Inspiring Innovation, a finalist for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Innovation Challenge, and her work has been covered by Durham Magazine, Triangle Business Journal and Our State Magazine. She is most interested in land conservation, sustainability, food systems and supporting underrepresented communities.

She lives in her hometown of Durham, North Carolina, with her husband and two kids. Her interests include yoga, gardening, saltwater fun, hiking, reading and exploring the world.
