Isabelle Lyon

Urban Conservation Associate

Isabelle is the Program Associate and Urban Conservation and Community Fellowship Coordinator for the Conservation Fund.  Her focus is on assisting communities in building equitable, sustainable communities, and she works with the Parks with Purpose program to develop community-centered greenspaces with equitable access. She has taken on the role of the UCC Fellowship Coordinator to help foster a new generation of conservation leaders who focus on meaningful community engagement and equity.

Isabelle graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Political Science. She came to The Conservation Fund early in 2023 as a Research Associate focused on DEI, then transitioned into her role as Program Associate in fall 2023. Prior to the Fund, Isabelle completed internships for Congressman Dan Kildee and the Montana Conservation Corps, and worked at the Sergeant-at-Arms office for the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Originally from Minnesota, she moved to Washington, D.C., in 2022. Isabelle found her love for the environment in the North Woods of Wisconsin and enjoys getting back home whenever she can. In her free time, she enjoys reading fantasy novels, the local food scene and exploring all of the natural spaces the DMV — District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia — has to offer.
