Jason Johnson

South Carolina State Director

Jason, the South Carolina Director, leads The Conservation Fund’s efforts across South Carolina, specializing in land conservation. Since 2005, he has helped protect more than 93,000 acres of state parks, national wildlife refuges, state wildlife management areas and other special places across the Palmetto State. Since 2006, Jason has also worked with the Midlands Area Joint Installation Consortium (MAJIC) to establish buffers around South Carolina military bases, including Shaw Air Force Base and the Army’s Fort Jackson.

Previously, Jason worked in commercial real estate brokerage in the Charlotte region. Jason holds a B.S. in Biology from Appalachian State University and occasionally gets to work on TCF projects north of the border in the North Carolina mountains nearer his alma mater.

Jason has lived in the Carolinas since 1987 and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He has been running the  Fund’s football pool since its 2006 inception, loves watching football (he hopes the Carolina Panthers will win the Super Bowl before he dies) and the Tour de France, hiking, driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway, listening to live music and reading.
