Matt Kuniholm

Director of Impact Analytics and Reporting

Matt is responsible for impact analytics and reporting for The Conservation Fund’s capital investment and formation team, including new initiatives to monitor and catalyze the Fund’s environmental and socioeconomic benefits. He has more than 15 years of experience working to increase environmental and social performance in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining the Fund, Matt worked within the environmental and social impact groups at ERM, a leading consultancy, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, an independent US federal agency promoting poverty reduction through economic growth. Most recently, he led the originations team at a carbon project design company, a role which required the integration of environmental and socioeconomic indicators to facilitate project finance, design, and development.

Matt holds a BA in Biology, a Master’s in Environmental Science and Policy from The Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland. Outside work, he enjoys time volunteering with organizations in the Anacostia watershed where he resides, section hiking the Appalachian trail and other local trails, or tending to his backyard garden.
