Ray Herndon

Vice President, Lower Mississippi and Gulf Coast Region

Ray has a proven track record of conservation acquisition results for over 20 years. He has delivered all aspects of conservation projects including partnership identification, outreach and support; identifying and securing project funding; and completion of land and water conservation transactions. Having the lead responsibility for conservation acquisition work within the Lower Mississippi and Gulf Coast geography, Ray guides The Conservation Fund’s delivery of regional conservation priorities. Previously, he worked with the Land Trust Alliance, and spent several years in the commercial banking sector.

Through his career, Ray has also served on the Louisiana Outdoors Forever Technical Advisory Board, North American Wetlands Conservation Council Staff, as Chair of the Partnership for Gulf Coast Land Conservation, the Management Board of the Lower Mississippi Valley Joint Venture, the Weeks Bay Foundation and the Coastal Land Trust.
