Sarah Rice

Water and Environmental Chemistry Lab Tech

Sarah Rice is the Water and Environmental Chemistry Technician at the Freshwater Institute. In this role, she collects and analyzes water samples, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and reports water quality data for a variety of different projects. She ensures compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System and other regulatory requirements. Additionally, she conducts field evaluations, trains interns, and collaborates with research staff to meet diverse project needs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Environmental Science from Iowa State University. In her free time, Sarah is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, biking, and camping.
