Conservation Solutions for Business

The Conservation Fund works to align energy and infrastructure development with smart, science-based land conservation—protecting vital landscapes and delivering lasting benefits to businesses, communities, ecosystems, and the nation as a whole.

Powering America’s Future

Land conservation is vital to America’s future, as the very land that sustains us also serves as the foundation for a seamless, integrated, and expanding power grid essential to connecting and powering the nation. That’s why The Conservation Fund works to ensure that our energy transformation reflects strong conservation values, while returning real value to Americans.

For 170 years our nation’s energy policy was buried deep underground, fueled by processes that happened 250 million years ago.  But today, and into the future, our energy policy will also be shaped by what is happening on the surface of the land. The growth in transmission capacity that will be needed to deliver energy from a variety of sources into homes, businesses and industrial facilities all across the country is staggering. Currently we have more than half a million miles of transmissions lines across the country, and we must double that amount in the next 30 years to meet our energy needs.

And conservation is the key that will help to build the infrastructure needed to meet power demands while reducing environmental impacts. Working together with businesses, government and local communities, we can identify how and where to build new energy infrastructure to meet America’s growing needs while minimizing impacts on the environment and benefitting communities. The Conservation Fund collaborates to safeguard lands needed for critical infrastructure while working with communities to mitigate any environmental impacts that do occur.

By working together, we can help deliver tomorrow’s energy infrastructure in a way that addresses and prioritizes critical environmental challenges.

Mitigation Solutions

We understand that balancing development with sound environmental practices is essential for America’s prosperity. We provide mitigation solutions that open the way for tomorrow’s economy while protecting high-priority wildlife habitat, clean water and recreation areas.
