Illinois

Introduction

Illinois’ landscape connects prairies and farmlands in the central and northern regions to the rolling hills and river valleys in the south and northwest. From the Mississippi River along the western border to the Shawnee National Forest in the south, the state is home to farmlands, natural beauty and ecologically important species. We work with partners across the state to boost the economic reach of small-scale farms, restore habitats for threatened species and expand local access to green space.
